Have you ever thought ”What gives me the right to be here in this role?” or “I just got lucky this time”? Have you doubted your ability to do your job or wondered if you are ‘good enough?’
If so you may have been experiencing Imposter Syndrome – the feeling you get when you think you are an ‘imposter’ in your role, or other life and work situations. You are not alone. Imposter Syndrome is common and yet is can be debilitating. It leads to a loss of confidence and this can in turn lead to us being less impactful at work. This in turn can lead to us staying in our comfort zone and not seeking new opportunities or challenges. However, imposter syndrome or struggling with confidence could also be a sign of growth and an opportunity to learn and change.
In this session Jean Balfour will provide practical tools that would help participants to:
- Understand the neuroscience and psychological aspects of imposter syndrome and self-confidence
- See confidence as an area you can invest in, develop and improve
- Learn simple tools to challenge your own negativity
- Identify and maintain approaches to building healthy self-confidence
