    Alexandru has primary responsibility for SG’s sustainable finance efforts in the Americas. Based in New York, Alexandru assists Americas clients with their sustainability advisory and finance requirements.

    Alexandru joined Societe Generale in 2009 and held various positions within the Global Banking and Investor Solutions division in Paris and London, focusing on both new business opportunities and efficiency gains.
    He joined SG Americas in 2017. Prior to joining SG, Alexandru held a management position at Accenture, France.

    Alexandru holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Ecole Polytechnique in France and an Engineering degree from University Politechnica of Bucharest in Romania.

    Brooke Guven

    Head of ESG & Sustainability, Cerberus

    Ms. Guven serves as the Head of Environmental, Social, Governance & Sustainability for Cerberus. In her role, Ms. Guven coordinates the Firm’s Environmental, Social, Governance (“ESG”) and sustainability efforts across all desks and investments.

    Prior to joining Cerberus in 2022, Ms. Guven was a Senior Legal Researcher at the Columbia Center on Sustainable Investment (“CCSI”), a joint center of the Law School and the Earth Institute at Columbia University, which she joined in 2016. Her work at CCSI focused on aligning the legal and normative frameworks governing global investment activities with sustainable development objectives and outcomes. From 2011 to 2015, Ms. Guven was a senior associate in the banking group at Hogan Lovells US LLP, where she represented public and private financial institutions and borrowers in multi-jurisdictional financing transactions. Earlier in her career, Ms. Guven served as a legal advisor to the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of the Government of Liberia, and as an associate in the banking group at McGuireWoods LLP.

    Ms. Guven graduated from Northwestern University, and received a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School, a M.A. in International Public Affairs from the University of Wisconsin, and a LL.M from New York University School of Law, where she was also a Human Rights Scholar. Ms. Guven is also an Adjunct Professor on Climate Change Law and Policy at the Columbia University School of Professional Studies.

    Dr. Pooja Khosla, Chief Innovation Officer at Entelligent, is an econometrician and data scientist with extensive experience in data analysis, predictive modeling, econometrics, statistics, microfinance, and mutual fund analysis. Dr. Khosla is one of the inventors of the patented Smart Climate technology. She brings her international background in finance, academia, predictive modeling, and statistical software platforms to the company, leading product and client development.     Director, Control Risks

    Emma is a Director based in London, leading Control Risks’ environmental practice for EMEA, which forms part of our wider global Environmental Sustainability Governance (ESG) consulting team. She has more than 25 years of experience as an environmental consultant, and for the last six years, has specialised in ESG and sustainability consulting. Emma has advised on many high profile projects across the world.

    Emma supports private equity firms, institutional investors, and sovereign wealth funds, in addition to global corporations in the automotive, fast moving consumer goods, chemical and pharmaceutical, energy and technology sectors. She has advised on a range of large global infrastructure projects, with particular experience in renewables, biofuels, water, road, and rail infrastructure. In addition, she specialises in soil and groundwater pollution, natural hazard and climate change risks, and net-zero and sustainability strategies. Her work often supports her clients’ investment decisions and business cases or assists with internal audits and compliance.

    Emma recently completed the Sustainable Finance course at the Cambridge Institute of Sustainable Leadership, and has since been advising a number of private equity houses around fund strategies and ESG assessment metrics to comply with Sustainable Finance Disclosures Regulation (SFDR), Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and EU taxonomy requirements.

    Before joining Control Risks, Emma was with Arcadis and Environmental Resources Management (ERM). Emma’s global experience includes projects in the UK, Europe, Pakistan, India, Brazil, and North America.

    Currently, Jeffrey Rosen is a Managing Director and Chief
    Operating Officer of Société Générale’s Global Markets business in the
    Americas.

     

    Jeff leads the Equity and Fixed Income Business Management
    functions, as well as the transversal Global Markets Project Man­agement,
    Regulatory, Operational Risk and Control teams in the Americas. In addition,
    Jeff is responsible for SG’s Strategic Investments in US, as well as several
    business development initiatives. 

     

    Jeff joined Société Générale in 2010, prior
    to his current role he held several different roles which included leading the
    Global Dodd-Frank Act implementation for the markets businesses, heading the
    Americas-based Project Management team, and most recently, Deputy COO of Global
    Markets in the Americas. Prior to Société Générale, Jeff spent fifteen years at
    Morgan Stanley in a variety of roles.

    In her current capacity as Chief of Programmes, Lila Karbassi oversees the entire work programme of the UN Global Compact on environment, social, governance and finance issues.

    Ms. Karbassi has been instrumental in the work of the UN Global Compact on the environment and climate change and has been responsible for the participation of the UN Global Compact in key UN conferences.

    In her 13 years at the organization, Ms. Karbassi has lead numerous successful programmes that have driven businesses to engage with the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact worldwide.

    In 2016, Ms. Karbassi worked in the Office of the Secretary-General to provide support and advice on business engagement on the Sustainable Development Goals. Prior to joining the UN Global Compact, Ms. Karbassi held positions on policy regulation at Sanofi-Aventis.

    Ms. Karbassi holds a Master of Business Administration from the Bocconi School of Management. She also holds a Doctorate in Biology from the University of Paris and a Master of Biology from the University of Grenoble.
